Sam Whittaker

Sam WhittakerOne of the Climbing Works Cheeses and a climbing coach for 10 years, Sam has climbed all over the world but is renowned for his hard grit routes (and appearances in many climbing films!).  He made the first ascent of Appointment with Death (E9 6c), which has yet to see its first repeat. Sam also leads up to F8b and boulders Font 8a.  His knowledge of the sport is phenomenal and his experience is second to none. He also has the advantage of knowing the Climbing Works like the back of his hand.

David Mason

Dave MasonA dedicated boulderer and current member of the British bouldering team, David has been climbing for 5 years and has bouldered up to Font 8a+. A recent trip to Fontainebleau saw him climb (amongst other things!) 9 problems graded from Font 7b - 8a. David studied sports science at Leeds University and has had a lot of experience coaching, especially in improving strength and technique and putting together training regimes for all abilities to improve overall climbing skills.
